After watching her baby sister go through leukemia twice, April Ward was determined to play an active yet informed role in her treatment.
April decided to use research, backed by science, to help her make better decisions about her cancer treatment and care. After just two months of treatment, her breast cancer tumors were all completely gone!
In 2021, the unthinkable happens. April’s soulmate, Chris, died suddenly of lung cancer. He was misdiagnosed which added to the shock of his death.
These experiences led April to create Remission for Life to help share with patients, what works and what doesn't.
In this episode, we talked about:
How differing cancer types, treatments, and experiences can be a learning moment for everyone.
How sharing your cancer experience can help someone else
How to move forward to be the best version of yourself and be confident in the decisions you are making
